The Dundee Museum of Transport is an Accredited, independent museum with exciting future plans to develop recently acquired premises into a new home for the museum. A move to the new site is envisaged in 2022.

Museum Manager

£25,000 – £27,000 pro rata dependent on experience; 24 hours a week; two year contract with an intention to extend

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the museum you will develop our facilities and activities in line with best practise to ensure visitors receive a first-class experience and promote the museum to a wider audience.  Managing and supporting the museum’s forty active volunteers and part time staff, you will oversee museum projects and budgets and provide planning and guidance for events.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual who is able to develop projects and help further expand our independent museum. Candidates should hold a degree in a relevant discipline or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge and experience, with at least two years museum sector experience.

Museum Development Officer 

£25,000 pro rata; 25 hours a week; two year contract

The Museum Development Officer post will focus on the development of the museum’s membership, visitor engagement and fundraising activities, leading on income-generating strategies and plans in areas including retail, membership and sponsorship.

We are looking for someone with commitment and drive, preferably with previous fundraising experience who is able to develop projects and help further expand our independent museum.

Candidates should hold a degree in a relevant discipline or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge and experience. Previous museum sector experience would be an advantage.
