Programmes Manager

Location: AIM office at the National Waterways Museum, Ellesmere Port

Salary: £33,000 pa

Full time (37.5 hours per week), permanent position

AIM is looking for an experienced and dynamic manager who is passionate about independent museums to join our team to develop and manage our programme activities.

This is an exciting new role that will be based at AIM’s new office at the National Waterways Museum in Ellesmere Port. Reporting to the Director, you will form part of a leadership team alongside the Head of Communications.

You will be responsible for areas of activity including AIM’s grant programmes, the annual AIM national conference and flagship programmes including our Success Guides, Prospering Boards, the AIM Hallmarks and Open Up: museums for everyone, amongst others.

It will be essential to develop a creative and effective team working relationship with the Programmes and Finance Officer to ensure high quality programme delivery that meets the needs of our members and our funders.

You will need to have an excellent understanding of the independent museum and heritage sector, knowledge of key areas of AIM’s programme activities and be able to quickly build effective relationships with our members and stakeholders and be proactive, enthusiastic member of the AIM team.

AIM is an ambitious and busy organisation so you will need to bring an ability to manage a range of competing priorities, problem solving skills whilst also communicating effectively within our team, our members and the wider sector.

Head of Communications

Location: AIM office at the National Waterways Museum, Ellesmere Port

Salary: £33,000 pa

AIM is looking for a Head of Communications to join our staff team to develop and implement an AIM Communications Strategy for our members, partners and stakeholders and take on the role of Editor of the AIM Bulletin, our flagship bimonthly publication.

This is an exciting new role that will be based at AIM’s new office at the National Waterways Museum in Ellesmere Port. Reporting to the Director, you will form part of a leadership team alongside the Programmes Manager.

You will need to develop a dynamic, creative and effective team working relationship with our Marketing and Membership Manager to ensure that all aspects of AIM’s digital and print communications match our core purpose, ensure that our members are well informed and have a strong voice and that advertising revenues and commercial opportunities are maximised.

We are looking for someone with a strong communications and editorial background with experience of developing and implementing communications strategies. You must be able to quickly build strong and effective working relationships with colleagues, members, partners, advertisers and sponsors.

Knowledge of the independent museum and heritage sector is not essential, but you must be keen to learn more and be able to understand and advocate for the sector and champion AIM’s purpose and values.
