Greenfield Valley Trust – Flintshire

Role(s): Board Members

The Trust wishes to recruit five Trustees to its Board that leads on the governance and strategic management of Greenfield Valley.

The Board needs a broad range of individuals whose different knowledge and skill, will form a whole and balanced team with the necessary professional experience, competencies, behaviours and values to take the Company forward.

In particular the Board wish to recruit Trustees who are able to support the Trust by offering skills, background or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Marketing, communications, social media, public relations, sales, tourism
  • Strategy, governance, finance, human resources, legal, performance management
  • Fundraising, statutory funds, corporate and philanthropic giving
  • Heritage, museums, visitor/family attractions
  • Community involvement, community engagement

The Museum of Dartmoor Life – Dartmoor

The Museum of Dartmoor Life is looking for a new Trustees to take on the next exciting phase in its development. It faces multiple challenges in developing the collections and exhibition space in a world where television, mobile phones and tablets provide Dartmoor visitors with information about the area.

Following the recommendations of an AIM small grant the Museum has changed to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). The object of the CIO is to provide, maintain and develop the Museum of Dartmoor Life for the public benefit. The museum exists to provide opportunities for visitors, volunteers and members of the local community to learn about and enjoy the cultural and natural heritage of Dartmoor.

We are looking to recruit four trustees who can help us continue our transformation of Museum of Dartmoor Life to create a modern dynamic Museum that is financially sustainable and relevant today. We want trustees who have vision, enthusiasm, excellent interpersonal skills combined with a love of Dartmoor, its people and its history with the commitment to fully support our vision and values. These are unremunerated positions. You will be joining an existing Board with a commitment to team working, hence shared responsibility will be important.

Consequently, we are seeking Trustees that will:

  • Enthuse, encourage and contribute to the continuing development of the objective of the CIO, The Museum of Dartmoor Life
  • Ensure that the CIO applies its resources in pursuance of its goals and evaluates performance against agreed targets
  • Ensure that the CIO remains financially stable, including assisting in the development of grant applications and business planning, where appropriate
  • Encourage the development of collections and exhibition space
  • Contributing to the development of partnership working over the Dartmoor
  • Exploring new opportunities for the CIO (including new technologies)

Combe Down Stone Legacy Trust – Bath

Role(s): Chair, Treasurer and 3 trustees

Chair: The Ralph Allen CornerStone*, Combe Down, tells the story of Bath Stone and its influence. A Forward Plan aims for it to become a stimulating, accessible environment to display this heritage. The chair will have an interest in Combe Down and its rich history and will relish a rewarding challenge.

The treasurer will have an interest in Combe Down and its rich history, bringing financial expertise to bear on developing this little treasure.

New trustees, interested in Combe Down and its rich history, will use their experience and skills to bring a shine to this little gem.

Kiplin Hall – Yorkshire

Role(s): Board Members

We are looking for Board members to join our friendly and dedicated team.  With the support of Heritage Lottery Funding, we are currently enhancing Kiplin Hall’s visitor experience, as well as reviewing our working practices internally to ensure the Hall’s sustainability and resilience.  We are looking to grow our Board of trustees to help guide us through this exciting period of change and transition.  We are particularly seeking trustees with skills and experience in finance, business, managing visitor attractions and curation/collections management.

We meet three times a year.  In addition to attending these meetings, Trustees may also undertake work between meetings, if necessary, including participating in committees.

Turner’s House Trust – London

Role(s): Board Members

To actively support strategic direction for the Trust, to support the ongoing management and transformation of the organisation, and be an ambassador for the Trust. Professional expertise in the areas of development and fund raising, historic buildings management, strategic business management and conservation architecture.

3 year term. Monthly meetings moving to every two months. Able to respond to emails in a timely manner.
