About the AIM Prospering Boards Programme

About the AIM Prospering Boards Programme

Could your board benefit from expert support? Prospering Boards works with boards to help them strengthen their leadership, work more strategically or deal more effectively with emerging challenges.

Prospering Boards is supported by Arts Council England through AIM’s NPO funding and the Welsh Government through AIM’s MALD funding and is open to museums in England and Wales.

In England, we have set a deadline for applications to the current round of support of Friday 8th March 2019.

The scheme is newly open to Wales, and potential applicants in Wales need to make an initial expression of interest before 31st March 2019.

If you are a trustee of an Accredited Museum (or one working towards Accreditation) in England or Wales and would like to discuss what support might be available for your board, please contact AIM’s Assistant Director, Helen Wilkinson, at helenw@aim-museums.co.uk.

How can AIM Prospering Boards support your museum?

How can AIM Prospering Boards support your museum?

AIM Prospering Boards works with boards to help them strengthen their leadership, work more strategically or deal more effectively with emerging challenges.

It offers one-to-one consultancy advice to boards and trustees from a group of highly skilled specialists. Boards can access up to 8 days support from a specialist governance consultant, to work on the aspects of board development that matter most to them.

Each package of support is designed around the needs of an individual museum, so Prospering Boards can help the most experienced boards, as well as those at a more challenging stage of development. Prospering Boards can help museums:

  • Change the way the Board works together
  • Plan to recruit new trustees
  • Support a Chair of Trustees with their own individual development as a leader
  • Address new areas of work and new challenges for the board

Prospering Boards also offers a short ‘microconsultancy’ option of 1 – 2 days which can be used for a simpler project, where a board already knows what it needs – perhaps for an Away Day.

“We’ve seen Prospering Boards support making real difference to boards of all shapes and sizes. Boards across England have gained new insight, new energy, new ways of working, and new trustees.” Helen Wilkinson, AIM Assistant Director.

Due to high levels of demand, we have set a deadline for applications to the current round of support of Friday 8th March 2019.

However, applicants must contact Helen Wilkinson at Helenw@aim-museums.co.uk ahead of the deadline to discuss their proposal and to allow time for a draft application.

We plan to reopen applications in late 2019 for support in 2020

Cymorth i Fyrddau

Cymorth i Fyrddau

Mae AIM wrth eu bodd i gynnig y cyfle i amgueddfeydd yng Nghymru ymgeisio ar gyfer cymorth trwy’r rhaglen Byrddau sy’n Ffynnu. Mae’r rhaglen hon yn gweithio gyda byrddau i’w helpu i gryfhau arweinyddiaeth, gweithio’n fwy strategol neu ddelio yn fwy effeithiol gyda heriau sydd yn codi.

Mae Byrddau sy’n Ffynnu yn darparu cymorth ymgynghorol un ar un, wedi’i deilwra i anghenion byrddau unigol o ymddiriedolwyr. Gallwn ddarparu hyd at chwe diwrnod o gymorth gan ymgynghorydd arbenigol, i’w defnyddio ar gyfer ffurfiau gwahanol o gymorth gan gynnwys: gosod strategaeth a gweledigaeth, datblygu ffyrdd newydd o weithio fel bwrdd, hyfforddiant ar gyfer cadeirydd newydd o ymddiriedolwyr, helpu i gynllunio rhaglen recriwtio a sefydlu ymddiriedolwyr newydd.

Os ydych yn ymddiriedolwr o Amgueddfa Achrededig (neu un sydd yn gweithio tuag at Achrediad) yn cymorth, ac os hoffech drafod pa gymorth sydd ar gael i’ch bwrdd, cysylltwch os gwelwch yn dda â Chyfarwyddwr Cynorthwyol AIM, Helen Wilkinson ar helenw@aim-museums.co.uk.

Y dyddiad cau ar gyfer cyfleu eich diddordeb yw 31ain Mawrth 2019.
