Director & Curator – The Priest’s House Museum and Garden
The Priest’s House Museum is an award-winning independent museum located in the centre of Wimborne Minster. We serve communities across East Dorset, providing a wide range of outreach activities and learning programmes. The Museum has been awarded funding from the Heritage Fund (formerly Heritage Lottery Funding) in June 2018, totally £1.6M for an exciting major re-development of the Museum incorporating the East Dorset Tourist Information Centre that will transform our visitor offer and enable us to reach out to and engage with new audiences. Collections Care Technician – Imperial War Museums
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Collections Care Technician to join the Imperial War Museums. You will be responsible for undertaking collections care activities at IWM sites under the direction, guidance and utilising the expertise of senior staff. You will undertake conservation cleaning at IWM sites, responsible for the cleaning of objects on open display and the cleaning of storage areas. The role shall involve working at height (training shall be provided). IWM sites consist of the IWM in Lambeth, Churchill War Rooms, HMS Belfast, IWM North and Duxford Airfield, and objects range from aircraft, tanks and ships, to uniforms, flags and medals. The post holder will join a team of collections and conservation staff dedicated to maintaining the stability and access to the unparalleled heritage collections of the museum. Closes 25 November.
Isle of Wight Steam Railway – Heritage and Learning Manager
As a Registered Educational Charity and an Arts Council England Accredited Museum, the Steam Railway is one of the top tourist attractions on the Isle of Wight and welcomes in excess of 90,000 visitors per annum. In addition to the day to day running of our Heritage & Learning Department, manned entirely by volunteers, we are looking for a candidate who can develop, manage and further enhance educational provision and access across the whole railway as a working museum. Applicants should have a sound knowledge of the Museum sector and experience of managing and motivating a dedicated volunteer workforce.
