A new guide – Working with Freelancers – has been created to support museums in finding, commissioning, briefing, working with and paying freelancers and consultants.
It aims to help museums to find the most appropriate freelancer for their project, advice on what to look for and how get the best out of the relationship. The guide includes links to where to find and recruit freelancers, a section on budgets and an example brief.
It’s full of tips and further information sources on the commonly asked questions and issues that museums have shared about working with freelancers.
The report was written by AIM Associate Supplier, Christina Lister, a marketing and audience development consultant, facilitator and trainer and co-founder of the Museum Freelance Network and was commissioned by SHARE Museums East.
