AIM is the only UK organisation dedicated to supporting museums, galleries and heritage organisations which are independent of local or national government control. With 60% of all UK museums being independent, AIM represents more than half of the UK museum sector.
AIM has more museum members than any other UK organisation and they range from volunteer led groups to multimillion pound charities. Our members are particularly interested in trading, enterprise, insurance, fundraising, catering, venue hire and new products as well as exhibitions, collections and improving their visitors’ experience.
