Conference Highlights

If you haven’t booked yet, here are some highlights you could be missing out on!

*Get FREE financial advice for your museum with AIM and the Charity Finance Group

We will be launching our new partnership with the Charity Finance Group during conference this year, so be the first to find out how your museum can take advantage of this new membership benefit.

*Discover how to attract new visitors to your museum

Attracting new visitors is a priority for most museums, so Day 1 of conference this year will draw on important new research exploring how museums can attract more diverse audiences for the benefit of everyone. See our Day 1 schedule here.

*Focus on your Finance

Finance will be the focus on Day 2 and will include the latest updates on the Museums and Galleries Tax Relief with experts from HMRC, ideas on alternative income generation and inspirational talks on financial leadership. See the schedule and speakers for Day 2 here.

*Network, explore and relax

If you have never been to an AIM conference before, then you are missing out on our fun and informative social events. Network, relax and enjoy visiting some unique locations as part of this popular part of AIM conference.

This year you can:

Dine at Compton Verney (Thursday 21 June): Join us for a delicious three course dinner with wine in the elegant surroundings of Compton Verney: an award-winning art gallery and Grade 1 listed mansion set in Capability Brown landscaped parkland. The dinner is sponsored by Meaco and coaches will transport you to the venue in time for pre-dinner drinks in the portico sponsored by Hayes Parsons Insurance Brokers. Feeling tempted? Book here!

Get social with Shakespeare (Friday 22 June): Enjoy a Midsummer stroll through the enchanting garden at Shakespeare’s Birthplace, before a tour of the house where he was born. On arrival, you will be greeted with a glass of Mulberry Gin and Elderflower Fizz, created using mulberries from the ancient trees in the garden before a delicious summer buffet is served. This event is sponsored by Axiell and you can book your places here.

Saturday study tour (Saturday 23 June): Finish off AIM National Conference 2018 with a Saturday study tour to some unique locations in Stratford upon Avon. The tour will start at 10am back at the Shakespeare’s Birthplace Museum before visiting the quirky MAD Museum to view (and play with!) their collection of mechanical art. Lunch at the historic Hathaway tearooms follows before the tour ends at Shakespeare’s School Room and Guildhall. Book here!
