Deputy Director at Avoncroft Museum

Reporting to the Museum’s Director, this new post will be in charge of the Museum’s financial, visitor and commercial operations, vital to Avoncroft’s future development and growth.  Through retail, catering, public programmes, marketing and hospitality, the Deputy Director will manage a team which delivers the financial success and the reputational growth of the Museum, ensuring that all our visitors and customers take away great memories of Avoncroft. Head of Collections and Interpretation at Avoncroft Museum

Reporting to the Museum’s Director, this new post will be responsible for the Museum’s future acquisitions, historic collections and interpretation. Our primary collection is unusual – we move entire buildings – while our other collections support this through archive and library material and smaller objects, which help illustrate the life and built heritage of the Midlands.  Our interpretation is through costumed enactment and volunteer guides, as well as demonstrations, written word and audio-visual displays. Museum Manager/ Curator at The Rifles Museum

Over the past five years, the museum has opened to the public, become fully Accredited, changed to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation with a new Board of Trustees, developed an exhibitions and events programme, recruited a team of volunteers, established an online presence and ventured into retail. We now welcome over 20,000 visitors per year and are planning to expand our offer much further.  As the Museum Manager, you will take the museum to the next level and build further on the foundations of this fledging museum, telling the story of the British Army’s newest and largest Infantry Regiment. The Museum Manager is responsible for the management of the museum. There is a part time Activities Officer. The Manager is responsible to the Chairman and Trustees of The Rifles Regimental Museum Trust for the management of the museum. Collections Care and Documentation Officer at Brooklands Museum

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Collections Department at Brooklands Museum in the role of Collections Care and Documentation Officer.  We are open to applications from people who have a range of experiences and while a formal museum qualification is desirable, it is not essential.  We are looking for the right candidate who wants to take the next step in their career.  This is a new position and comes at an exciting time to join the Museum.  We are building on the success of our award-winning permanent galleries, The Brooklands Aircraft Factory and Flight Shed.  This role is sponsored by the Heritage Lottery Fund through the Aircraft Factory and Race Track restoration project.  Our collection is at the core of how we tell the fantastic stories of Brooklands, the people that worked here and their contribution to both motorsport and aviation throughout the 20th century.  This post is fundamental for us to continue to deliver a visitor experience that uses the collection in a dynamic way. Tender: Education Consultant Contract for National Paralympic Heritage Trust

The National Paralympic Heritage Trust are seeking to appoint an Education Consultant to deliver a suite of resources aimed at Key Stages 2,3, and 4 for use in their Learning and Engagement Programme. This is an exciting chance to contribute to a prestigious and rewarding national project that seeks to help young people to explore the world of the Paralympics, it’s history, technological development and values whilst also challenging perceptions to disability. Trades and Crafts Interpreter (Bakehouse) at Weald & Downland Living Museum

To undertake interpretation demonstrations on site to enhance visitor experience, to support the work of the volunteers at the Museum, particularly those working in the bakehouse and dairy, as well as other trades and crafts areas, and assist in their training and to manage the daily housekeeping and good presentation of the bakehouse, dairy and other trades and crafts areas. Domestic Interpreter at Weald & Downland Living Museum

To undertake interpretation demonstrations on site to enhance visitor experience, to support the work of the volunteers at the Museum, particularly those working in the historic houses, and assist in their training and to manage the daily housekeeping, domestic arrangements and good presentation of the Tudor kitchen and other houses. House Guides at Charleston

We are seeking people with a passion for Charleston to join our group of House Guides, providing a unique and special experience about the House, its inhabitants, history and extensive collection to those visiting Charleston. Garden Trainee at Charleston

We have a wonderful, exciting position, generously funded by the Stanley Smith Horticultural Trust, for a trainee gardener to work with Charleston’s Head Gardener over a 12 month period. The Garden Trainee will take part in all aspects of the practical work undertaken throughout the site.  The Trainee will benefit from experiencing all seasons in the Charleston Garden including the planning and maintenance of spring and summer displays and perennial vegetable growing, ‘dressing’ venues for events and making flower arrangements and bouquets for performers and for visitor areas. Museum Manager at Beck Isle Museum

Beck Isle Museum of Rural Life is a small, self-funded, volunteer-run accredited museum in the market town of Pickering, North Yorkshire. The trustees would like to appoint a full-time Museum Manager following our present manager moving to a new post. The Museum Manager is responsible for day-to-day management of the Museum, the collection, the buildings and the volunteers. We are seeking a qualified and experienced museum professional to bring knowledge and understanding of museum and collections management to our volunteer team. Although the post is very wide-ranging, the Manager is supported by a dedicated and enthusiastic board of trustees and volunteer team.
