Please note: No refunds will be given after the 21 May although you can still substitute a different delegate to attend. A handling fee of £5 will be made on refunds and a handling fee of £5 will be made on all amendments.

Hotels For Conference

Hotels For Conference

Please be aware that Newark is a busy town and we strongly recommend that you book your accommodation as soon as possible.

There are three primary hotels for delegates and we have provided details of these and other local accommodation on our Hotels webpage.

Coaches will collect delegates from the three main hotels and the Premier Inn, plus there will be a central pickup location for delegates staying in other accommodation. Please keep checking this page for further information over the coming months about coach timings and collection points.

The conference is situated at The National Civil War Centre, Newark.

There is a separate Conference entrance from the main museum visitor entrance, which will be clearly signposted upon your arrival.

You will collect your delegate badge and pack at registration.

You are more than welcome to visit the museum once you have registered for conference.

Please note: there are no coaches to conference on Day 1 in the morning, but the conference venue is centrally located within Newark and easily accessible from the two local railway stations.

There will be coaches dropping back at hotels at the end of Day 1 and for collecting and dropping delegates off after the Thursday night dinner.  On Day 2 – there will be coach collections and drop offs in the morning, after conference and for the Friday night social event. Parking for those with limited ability only is available with prior notice in the NCWC car park. There are 4 disabled bays that can be made available for the conference. See details of all car parking on our travel and directions webpage.

Registration, Refreshments & Dietary

A secure cloakroom area is available at the registration area.

You will collect your delegate badge and pack at registration.

Refreshments will be available in the exhibition Area which is in the Tudor Hall

Lunch will also be served during both days in the exhibition area with some seating available.

Coffee and other drinks will be served during conference in the exhibition area.

Please ensure you inform AIM of any dietary requirements you may have upon booking. We will need to ensure that all venues are informed well in advance.

There will be an opportunity to view the Conference Trade Exhibition prior to the start of the Conference.

There will be a coach service operating between hotels and all conference venues from 4.30pm on 20 June.

Conference Exhibition

The conference exhibition will showcase companies and organisations that work with and support AIM members in a wide range of ways.

The exhibition is open on both days of the conference and is a great opportunity to ask questions, network and find new products.

09.15 – 11.00: Registration

10.45: Call to conference

11.00– 12.30: Conference speakers and coffee break

12.30pm – 13.45: Lunch break with first time delegates lunch (optional)

13.45 – 16.30: Conference speakers, AGM, coffee break, walking tours and breakout sessions

16.15: Coach Collections commence to Hotels and Station

19.00: Drinks reception and Annual Dinner

23.00: Coach return to Hotels

16.00: Conference Closes

16.00: Coach Collections Commence to Hotels and Station

22.00: Social Evening finishes. Coaches return to hotels

Please bring your luggage if you are departing conference by train as coaches will be dropping off at stations later on.

13.00: Tours of Creswell Crags

15.00: Study Tour ends. Coaches depart for Newark stations and hotels
