Independent Museums and Tourism . Who Needs Who More?
The Aim Conference is a dynamic, friendly and informative event aimed at Independent museums of all sizes. On Thusday 03 June the Keynote Speaker is Dame Fiona Reynolds, Director General of the National Trust. She will be followed by a series of case studies looking at the way various museums have worked within the tourism agenda . The afternoon will end with the ever popular legal update, this year focussing on Trustee responsibilities. On Friday 04 June events start with an update from Roy Clare Chief executive MLA, followed by a presentation by James Berresford CEO of Visit England. After coffee DC Research will present the results of their specially commissioned research into the economic value of the indpendent museum sector. The morning will finish with a presentation from our Sponsors Development Partners on fundraising in the current economic Climate
There will be the usual very popular social events; on Thursday evening our Dinner, held at The Heritage Motor Centre , and on the Friday evening an informal pub supper with quiz in Warwick. On the Saturday there will be a fascinating behind the scenes tour to Chedham's Yard (winner of the BBC Restoration 2006 ) and to Stratford on Avon where we will be hosted by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.
