Please Note the Change from the Advertised Programme
We will be visiting The Wadworth Brewery at Devises instead of visiting the Merchant's House at Marlborough, followed by lunch at the Bear Inn at Devises.
On Saturday 16 June there will be a Study Tour looking at the visitor offer in some of Wiltshire’s museums.
The tour cost is just £10 and includes all travel, between the tour venues and lunch. The coach will collect you from the Conference hotel at 9.30am and return to Hotel in Swindon at 4.30pm with an additional stop at Swindon Station.
We start at Avebury Manor and the Keiller Museum to learn more about the National Trust’s
new approaches to the visitor experience on the site.

Afterwards there will be an opportunity to visit the Stone Circle at the heart of the World Heritage Site.
From Avebury we travel to Devizes and The Wadworth Brewery. The Wadworth Brewery was founded in 1875 and it's imposing brick building is one of the landmarks of Devises. We will be receiving a personal guided tour from their Visitor Services Manager to include the Victorian brewery tower, sign writers shop and cooperage with a chance to see the Visitor Centre and working shire horses that still deliver beer to local pubs.
Lunch will be provided at The Bear Hotel in Devizes
Our final visit will be to the Wiltshire Heritage Museum at Devizes to see its highly important archaeological
collections. We will hear about how the Museum is engaging wider audiences through the use of new
media applications and the challenges of interpreting a specialist collection in an historic building.
The bus will return to the Holiday Inn Express and Swindon station about 16.00.
