AIM grants are available to help our members develop and grow their organisations and underpin key areas of activity.

You can find out more on our current grant schemes below and you’ll find all the eligibility criteria and timetables for applications on each of the grant pages.

AIM Pilgrim Trust Collections and Conservation Grants

AIM Pilgrim Trust Collections and Conservation Grants

AIM is grateful to the Pilgrim Trust for funding the grant scheme for a further three years from 2023-2025. The grants support small and medium sized museums to care for their collections more effectively and efficiently and to meet the standards required for Accreditation.

Re:Collections grants for museums in Wales

Re:Collections grants for museums in Wales

Funded by the Welsh Government Anti-Racist Wales Culture, Heritage and Sport Fund, AIM’s Re:Collections scheme offers grants of up £15,000 to museums in Wales to support projects that deliver the Culture, Heritage and Sport goals and actions from the Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan (ARWAP) and Programme for Government.

AIM Connected Communities

AIM Connected Communities

Funded by DCMS Know Your Neighbourhood Fund through Arts Council England, AIM’s Connected Communities scheme offers grants of £15,000 – £100,000 to museums delivering projects in the eligible areas that will improve community connections through high-quality volunteering opportunities and/or reducing loneliness and increasing social bonds.

AIM Arts Scholars Brighter Day grant scheme

AIM Arts Scholars Brighter Day grant scheme

AIM is grateful to the Arts Scholars Charitable Trust for funding the AIM Arts Scholars Brighter Day Grant Scheme. The fund will support education, training, curation, and exhibition projects that address collections care and sustainability of historic and decorative arts collections.

New Stories New Audiences

New Stories New Audiences

New Stories New Audiences is a grant scheme for AIM small museum members funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund. It inspires museums to stay relevant to their audiences and to increase their impact by identifying new stories and by working with a new partner, to work differently and to try something new.

AIM Higher

Whether its reviewing basic good practice or dealing with complex challenges, our AIM Higher governance support programme offers the opportunity to work with one of our roster of experienced and expert consultants.

AIM training grants

AIM training grants

AIM training grants are available to support member museums in developing the skills and expertise of their workforce (paid or voluntary). Priority will be given to smaller museums receiving less than 20,000 visitors a year.
